Part of Nick Camlin's duties as a Member of the County Board is to sit as the County's representative on the Quad City Area Labor-Management (QCALM) Board of Directors. QCALM has recently announced the availability of two $1,000.00 scholarships in commemoration of I. Weir Sears and Louis De Frieze and their contributions to the area's strong labor and management relationship.

Criteria for winning the scholarship includes:
1. A graduate from an accredited high school in Henry, Mercer or Rock Island County in Illinois, or Clinton, Muscatine or Scott County in Iowa.
2. Cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better.
3. Pursuing a degree of diploma from an accredited school.
4. Write an essay of between 750-1000 words, typed and double spaced, discussing the topic of the history of labor, the collective bargaining process and the labor-management cooperation concepts.

Deadline for submission of all required documents is April 6, 2012.
