June County Meetings

Transparency in government business and involvement for citizens are two very important values to me; that is why I have included them in the Camlin Five Point Plan and publicize meeting dates and times on this webpage and in the 'Public Servant' newsletter.

This month, our regular County Board meeting will be held at the new Western Illinois Riverfront Campus in Moline. Periodically, the County Board moves its meetings to different places throughout the County so that we can be more accessible to residents in every part of the County. In April, our meeting was held in the upper-end of the County at the Cordova Township Civic Center, and in September our meeting will be in the lower-end of the County at the Lion's Club in Andalusia.

I believe we do our best when everyone is well-informed on the issues and participate in the decision making process.

Below is a listing of my meeting schedule for the month of June:
  • Human Resources Committee: June 14, at 4 pm, in the Second Floor Conference Room of the County Office Building.
  • Finance Committee: June 15, at 1 pm, in the Second Floor Conference Room of the County Office Building.
  • County Board: June 19, at 5:30 pm, in the Rock Island County Community Room of the new Western Illinois Riverfront Campus, 3300 River Drive, Moline, IL.
And, while I don't serve on the Consolidation Review Commission that is charged with studying new construction, renovating or moving County buildings, I will be attending their meeting and I encourage residents and business owners to also attend. The Commission will meet on Tuesday, June 12, at 4 pm, at the County Office Building. The Commission will be very busy as it reviews the Community Impact Study and the Financial Analysis Report, which provides estimates on the costs of a) doing nothing, b) moving the the QCIC, c) building new offices, or d) renovating existing space.
