The Human Resources Committee met on Tuesday morning, August 9, 2016.

We approved the minutes of the July meeting.

We authorized claims and treasurer’s disbursements.

The Committee heard presentation from representatives of Profile and VIPCO regarding wellness programs for employees. The staff is looking into each program further and may have recommendations for the Committee in September.

The Committee recommended approval of an Admissions RN position for Hope Creek, as explored by the Health & Human Services Committee.

Mr Clyde presented information proposing a change in the County’s employee flex plan.  The change would drop TASC and switch to Advantage, for nearly a 10% savings, in addition to efficiencies for HR staff. The Committee agreed with the change.

Mr Clyde also presented the Committee with information about changing the open enrollment eligibility for the Flex Plan from one year to 90 days. Currently employees may have to wait 18 months or more for the first open enrollment period after their one year anniversary date. The Committee agreed to the change, allowing employees to participate in the first open enrollment period after 90 days of employment.

The Committee heard reports from the County Auditor, the Health Insurance Planning Committee, and the Human Resources Director.
