I am the County Board's appointed representative on the Boards of Directors for Arrowhead, and for the Quad City Area Labor-Management Council, serving both since 2011.

The Arrowhead Board of Directors has been making lots of changes. In 2013, we decided to undertake major rebranding efforts to better express our mission. We still serve youth in a residential capacity, but have recently branched out into the community offering other clinical services, often times in partnership with other organizations. As part of our rebranding efforts, we have decided to officially drop "Ranch" from our title, and are now doing business as Arrowhead Youth and Family Services. Soon we will be ready to unveil the completed works of our rebranding efforts! It is a very exciting time for Arrowhead as we adapt to the climate of the future and expand our work to serve more youth and their families and communities.

In 2013, I became the Treasurer of the Quad City Area Labor-Management Council (QCALM). This organization has also been doing some growing, and is poised for even more growth in the future! In December, QCALM hosted a joint training session for members of labor and management that was well-attended and very constructive for all involved. QCALM serves our community by teaching about the importance of the partnership that can be forged between organized labor and their management in business. Additionally, QCALM offers yearly scholarships to two area graduating high school seniors. Scholarships are competitively through a labor-management essay contest in April. I will post more information about this year's scholarship soon.
